We're committed to helping colleagues take part in volunteering activities. Through our Matched Time Volunteering programme, we support a range of community and charity causes.

This year we've doubled the amount of time colleagues can volunteer (to 70 hours) to enable extra volunteering.

Earlier in May Mike Vallance, Head of Transaction Banking - Corporate and Commercial banking, spent five days volunteering with the charity RE:ACT, formerly Team Rubicon UK (TRUK).

RE:ACT is a disaster response organisation with 5,000 volunteers, from both civilian and military backgrounds. They're often deployed to disasters abroad which have including Nepal, Haiti, Mozambique and the Bahamas.

With a crisis unfolding on home ground, RE:ACT focused efforts to help tackle the impact of coronavirus. From creating supermarkets within hospitals, delivering essential food parcels for NHS workers to running mobile mortuaries around the UK.

Mike had the opportunity to deliver some of the essential food supplies and support with fundraising strategy and leadership tasks.

Watch the video below to see the great work RE:ACT are doing and how Mike got involved.
